 DJ Bruno The DC Congress is proud to again have Genier Bruno as the Master of Music for the 2010 Congress. Known as “El Unico” has been a fixture in the Washington DC salsa scene since 1996. Born in El Barrio, NYC and raised in the Boogie-Down Bronx, Bruno carries the pulse and vibrant rhythm of his music in his veins. Originally a performance poet Bruno has been present at some of the greatest salsa performances and has seen in persons some of the legendary salseros such as Tito Puente, Tito Rodriguez, Machito, Ismael Rivera, Ismael Miranda, Willie Colon, Hector LaVoe, Eddie Palmieri, Manny Oquendo, Andy Montanez, Pellin Rodriguez, Willie Rosario, Roberto Roena, Santiago Cerron, Ray Barretto, Bobby Valentin, and more. Bruno plays the music that identifies him and every other salsero/salsera with the island of Puerto Rico. He plays for the dancer, the listener, the connoisseur, and everybody that loves this vibrant music that the gods and orishas have bestowed upon us as spiritual nourishment through dance. |

Son of a very talented musician, Carlos very well remembers listening to the salsa classics at a very early age and accompanying his father to music practices. It is here where everything began for Carlos…It is at home listening to LPs and going to music rehearsals where he meets and falls in love with the music of Willie Rosario, Rafael Cortijo, Ismael Rivera, Bobby Valentín, Eddie Palmieri, and many others... |

 DJ Renzo DJ Renzo started his DJ quest as an inspring music aficianado. Renzo grew up with Gilberto Santa Rosa, Oscar D'Leon, and El Gran Combo playing in the family home. Although he grew up with priincipally hip hop and R&B he soon re-discovered salsa while in his senior year at UCLA. After hearing Han Cogido La Cosa by Grupo Niche Renzo was immediately hooked and it was at that point that salsa overtook his life for good. |
