DJ Renzo
DJ Renzo
DJ Renzo started his DJ quest as an inspring music aficianado.  Renzo grew up with Gilberto Santa Rosa, Oscar D'Leon, and El Gran Combo playing in the family home.  Although he grew up with priincipally hip hop and R&B he soon re-discovered salsa while in his senior year at UCLA.  After hearing Han Cogido La Cosa  by Grupo Niche Renzo was immediately hooked and it was at that point that salsa overtook his life for good.
In 2005 while in North Carolina he was bequeethed a hard drive with approximately 1500 songs on it from Betto Herrera (director of Mambo Dinamico Dance Company).  From there the voyage began.  He now has over 30,000 songs on albums, CDs, MP3s with music ranging from contemporary salsa, timba, Columbian, salsa romantica, to salsa dura, and much more.

DJ Renzo got his first gig here in Washington DC filling in for DJ Vino at The Space and then went on to partner with DJ Neo at Geisha Lounge.  At that point Earl Rush saw potential in his style and gave him a chance to do some gigs with Stuck on Salsa.  Renzo went on to play at Lima Lounge, The Salsa Room, Ultra Bar, Clavekazi Dance Studios, and  Mr. Mambo/Stuck On Salsa Second Saturday Social, The Black Party, and 5 Year Anniversary for Stuck On Salsa.here in DC.  Renzo has also DJ'd in Richmond at Big Daddy's and Infuzion and he also DJ'd The North Carolina Salsa Extravaganza for the Cobo Brothers Dance Company.  Recently Renzo has also been invited to DJ at the Chicago International Salsa Congress.

Aside from DJing for clubs and socials Renzo has also DJ'd many private events and a two weddings as well.  While relatively new to the DJ scene Renzo has risen quickly in the ranks of DC's premier salsa DJs.  DJ Renzo is a fan of all salsa music but he likes to listen to upbeat, old school, mambo music heavy on percussion.  When spinning he plays whatever keeps the crowd grooving.  Also known as "The Dancing DJ" Renzo is in tune with what makes the average dancer move.  Therefore his musical selections are usually geared towards that same goal.

Some of Renzo's favorite artists include:  Fedrico y Su Combo Latino, Alfredo Linares, Justo Betancourt, Ismael Quintana, Larry Harlow, La Controversia, La Protesta, Orquesta Revolucion 70, and Eddie Palmieri.
